Early settlers discovered a fertile valley near the Queen Creek Wash at the base of the San Tan Mountains. This valley, now known as Queen Creek, was perfect for ranching and farming. Farmers discovered it was ideal for growing citrus, cotton, pecans, vegetables and other crops. Farm stands selling deliciously fresh product can still be found along the road.
